HELP ME PLEASE! makeup suggestions?

i currently wear virtual matte foundation from perscriptives and finish it off with their virtual matte pressed powder

i use a sponge to apply the foundation and then a makeup brush to apply the powder

i thought my makeup was fine and not that thick at all but recently someone has told me that it looks cakey and thick

i dont think my makeup is cakey or thick but it wouldnt hurt for it to look more natural if possible

any suggestions for makeup that wont look like im wearing makeup??????

PS - if you are going to suggest a tinted moisturizer... i have used those in the past and they tend to make my face look oily/shiny so i have to put more powder on to take the shine out (which totally gets rid of any truly natural look i got with them)

so please suggest one that wont make me shinyHELP ME PLEASE! makeup suggestions?
lightly dampen your sponge before applying foundation. also use a natural sea sponge not a normal one.HELP ME PLEASE! makeup suggestions?
Wet the makeup sponge and squeze the extra water out and than apply a dab of foundation on the sponge first and start to apply in small sections until fully covered. remember to also do this under your chin and around neckline. you may want to leave the powder off altogether, this may not be sheer enough and causing the problem.
u should try a product from olay, and for foundation only put a thin layer and only put on more where u really need it! hope that helps!
hi dear

wash your face with a good cleanser before make up and then put a little bit moistriser then wait for few min

use a foundation brush and put very little amount of foundation where you think is most needed and avoid putin it all over and too much.then put powder lightly on ur face.

then take a slightly wet (warm water) face towel and put it on ur face for 2 min to relax to skin abit.then put ur blusher.

good luck
Okay.

This is what I would suggest.

If you dont think that your makeup looks cakey and thick.. then dont change it.

If you are happy the way you look then dont change it becaus someone said thats the way it looks.

Or youcan try Bare Minerals

go to www.BareMinerals.com

this makes a more natural look
i used to have that same problem. i now use Neutragina foundation from Walmart...it is incredibly thin and when first put on looks a little shiny because it is taking the oil from you face...and then i finish off with a light mineral powder. it looks so natural and lasts all day. try it out and tell me what you think.

I am going to suggest a tinted moisturizer... but after you use the moisturizer... let it dry for a minute. Then take your powder brush and lightly dust on your powder blush over your cheek bones, a little on your forehead and nose. Don't go overboard with it or you'll look all red and weird. Just lightly dust so you can get some color... and diminish the shine.
use makeup with water base,it looks more natural.
the matte makeup is what is making your skin look cakey, and then you add the powder on top of it, which makes the matter worse. Not all skins can use matte makeup.

If you still have a tinted moisturizer, try using your pressed powder first, and then use the tinted moisturizer and see if that gives you a better look without the shine.

Another thing you could try is wetting the sponge that you use to apply your makeup and see if that gives you a lighter finish. Good luck!
bare essentials
Try Physician's Formula talc-free mineral loose powder/foundation. Covers well without looking like a mask!
I'd quit using the powder. If your skin isn't oily, you shouldn't need the powder on top of a matte finish makeup.

Also, try using 3 dots of foundation on each cheek and forehead and 1 on chin and blend w/ your sponge.

and a good exfoliating cleanser and using a good moisturizer will help.
Use Bare Minerals !
